HomeMy WebLinkAbout17042 ORD - 05/19/1982AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH DELTA UTILITIES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE BROOKHAVEN--FIVE POINTS AREA SANITARY SEWER AND APPROPRIATING $150,000 FOR THE PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Delta Utilities for construction of the Brookhaven -- Five Points Area Sanitary Sewer, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Delta Utilities, opened on the 5th day of May, 1982, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $150,000 out of the No.250 SanitarySewer Bond Fund, of which $134,629.90 is for the construction contract and $15,370.10 is for additional engineering, legal advertising, incidental and related expenses applicable to Project No. 250-77-12, Brookhaven—Five Points Area Sanitary Sewer. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /49 day of May, 1982.
