AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO SURFACE LEASE
FOR A 2.07 ACRE DRILL SITE IN LOT 13, SECTION 56,
FLOUR BLUFF AND ENCINAL FARM AND GARDEN TRACTS WITH
EXXON CORPORATION AND SUN OIL COMPANY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute an amendment to surface lease authorized by Ordinance No. 15684,
approved by the City Council on August 13, 1980, amended by Ordinance No. 16098,
approved by the City Council on March 11, 1981, for a 2.07 -acre drill site
in Lot 13, Section 56, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, with
Exxon Corporation and Sun Oil Company as Lessee and the City of Corpus Christi
as Lessor, said amendment to be in consideration of a payment of $100 as
an increase in the rental payment for 1982 with said rental to increase eight
percent over and above the previous year's rental for each successive year
said lease is in effect. The amendment will permit Lessee to temporarily
place drilling and workover equipment along a 440 -foot by 100 -foot area
abutting the'southwesterly edge of the 2.07 -acre drill site, all as more
fully set forth in the surface lease amendment, a substantial copy of which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A".

SURFACE LEASE AMENDMENT

§ KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: THAT,
COUNTY OF NUECES §
WHEREAS, by instrument dated August 13, 1980 recorded
in Volume 1753, Page 434 of the Deed Records of Nueces
County, Texas, to which reference is made herein for all
purposes, (hereinafter called Surface Lease), the City of
Corpus Christi, hereinafter called "Grantor", did grant,
lease and let unto Exxon Corporation, with offices at the
Wilson Tower, 606 N. Carancahua 78476, and Sun Oil Company,
P. O. Box 20, Dallas, Texas 75221, hereinafter collectively
called "Grantee", a certain 2.07 acre tract to be used as a
directional drill site location for drilling, development,
and production of oil, gas, and other minerals from a well
completed on State Tract 13 in the Laguna Madre, Nueces
County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, by instrument dated March 11, 1981, recorded
in Vol. 345, page 165 of the Oil & Gas Records of Nueces
County, Texas, the said Surface Lease was amended, to which
such amendment reference is herein made for all purposes;
and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto desire to further amend the
said Surface Lease, as amended, in the particulars hereinafter
set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual
benefits to be derived herefrom and TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) and
other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and
sufficiency of which is herein acknowledged, Grantor and
Grantee hereby and herein agree to amend the said Surface
Lease, as amended, by including the following therein:
7. Grantor does also hereby grant, lease and let
exclusively unto Grantee, its successors and assigns
the right to use an additional area One Hundred feet
