AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH STEFEK CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
FOR RETURN WATER LINE REPLACEMENT AT THE T. C. AVERS
SWIMMING POOL AND APPROPRIATING $17,000 FOR THE SAID
PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a
contract with Stefek Construction Company for the Return Water Line
Replacement at the T. C. Ayers Swimming Pool, all as more fully set forth
in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office
of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference
and according to the bid of Stefek Construction Company, opened on the 2nd
day of June, 1982, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $17,000
out of the No. 162 Federal/State Grant Fund, Activity 807.05, Code 502,
7th Year Community Development Block Grant, of which $14,529 is for the
construction contract and $2,471 is for additional engineering, legal advertis-
ing, contingencies and related expenses.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting
the construction of public improvements such finding of an emergency is made
and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that
this ordinance is passed and sh4,11 take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the day of June, 1982.

introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
