AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH ISLES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE LAKEVIEW ACRES/MAUI DRIVE
SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIATING $73,000 FOR
THE SAID PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with Isles Construction Company for construction of the
Lakeview Acres/Maui Drive Sanitary Sewer Improvements, all as more fully set
forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the
office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by
reference and according to the bid of Isles Construction Company, opened on
the 30th day of June, 1982, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous
to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $73,000
out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund of which $65,597 is for the
construction contract and $7,403 is for additional engineering, legal
advertising, contingency expenses and related items applicable to Project No.
250-77-37, Lakeview Acres/Maui Drive Extensions.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
take immediate action so that the abovementioned sanitary sewer improvements
can be expedited, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /0?

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
