AMENDING SECTION 55-100 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, SO AS TO PROVIDE
CERTAIN INCREASES IN WASTEWATER RATES; PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 55-100 of the Code of Ordinances, City
of Corpus Chtisti, 1976 Revision, be and the same hereby is amended by
amending the schedule of rates and the rate schedule only thereof to
hereafter read as follows:
"SCHEDULE OF RATES BASED UPON WATER CONSUMPTION FOR
WASTEWATER SERVICE CUSTOMERS WITH WASTEWATER CHARAC-
TERISTICS OF 250 PARTS PER MILLION OR LESS OF BIOCHEMI-
CAL OXYGEN DEMAND, AND 250 PARTS PER MILLION OR LESS
OF SUSPENDED SOLIDS."

The charges in addition to the above minimums, as well as the

(1,000) gallons of water used as follows:

SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith shall be and are hereby repealed to the extent of conflict herewith.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision thereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.

SECTION 4. The rates established by this ordinance shall be
applied against all wastewater service provided beginning with Cycle 1
on or around August 1, 1982, and shall be billed to customers beginning
on or around September 1, 1982.
SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official.:'
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption of
this ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.

rates read on the first two of three readings on July 14 and July 21, 1982,
be amended prior to the third reading by making the following change:
A. Increase the figure for One -family, maximum --outside city
