HomeMy WebLinkAbout17166 ORD - 07/28/1982p1;7/21/82;4th AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 55-50 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES, 1976 REVISIONS AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCES NO. 16446 AND 16593, PASSED AND APPROVED AUGUST 12, 1981 AND OCTOBER 14, 1981 RESPECTIVELY, BY AMENDING CERTAIN SCHEDULES THEREIN SO AS TO INCREASE WATER RATES OR CUSTOMERS USING TREATED OR UNTREATED umal. • o WHEREAS, the existing water rates of the City of Corpus Christi have been in effect since 1981; and WHEREAS, various costs of acquiring water, transporting of water, treatment and distribution of the same has been greatly increased since 1981; and WHEREAS, existing conditions have been studied by the City Council and the City Council has concluded that anew schedule of rates should be adopted; and WHEREAS, a rate increase is necessary to make the water distribution systemmore self -supportive: . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF. CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 55.750 of the City Code of Ordinances, 1976 Revision, as amended by Ordinances NO. 16446 and 16593, passed and approved August 12, 1981 and October 14, 1981 respectively, be and the same is hereby amended by amending the first two scheduless found in Section 1 of said Ordinance No. 16446 under the caption'TREAiLDIZATER -REGULAR RATE, to - hereinafter read as follows: METER SIZE INSIDE CITY INCHES "LIMITS ' OUTSIDE CITY. SECTION 2. That Section 55-50 of the City Code of Ordinances, 1976 Revision, as amended, and particularly as amended by Ordinance No.. 16446, passed and approved August 12, 1981, be amended by adding a e subsection after the two schedules found in Section 1 of said Ordinance No. 16446, said subsection to hereafter read as follows: Public Agency for Resale Rates Treated meter purchased at the treatment plant site by a public agency for resale. That Section 55-50, City Code of Ordinances, 1976 Revision, as amended by Ordinance No. 10292, be amended by increasing the price of untreated water to industrial, uunicipal and domestic users to be included in said section, reading as follows: "UNTREATED -WATER - INDU5TRIAL;1MUNICIPAL'AND'DOMESTIC All untreated water sold and delivered at the Calallen Pool, lake Corpus Christi, or any other point of delivery where such water is available directly to the consumer shall be at the following rates: Commodity Charge ' For all water consumed $.13 per 1,000 gallons Mini= Charge Minimum Monthly Charge, Industrial. $150.000 Ydnimum Monthly Charge, Municipal By Contract Mthimum Monthly Charge, Domestic $5.00 Minimum Annual Charge, Domestic $50.00" SECTION,4. Al]. ordinances or parts of ordinanes in conflict herewith shall be and are hereby repealed to the extent of conflict herewith.. SECTION 5. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or Provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its. purpOse. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be effective July 28:1982, for August water consumption. SECTION 7. aiblication shall be made one'time.In the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption of this ordinance, stating.in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
