HomeMy WebLinkAbout17172 ORD - 08/04/1982• mb;8-5-82;lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH BAY, INCORPORATED FOR LANDSCAPING AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT; APPROPRIATING $27,000 FOR THE PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a contract with Bay, Incorporated, for miscellaneous landscaping at the Corpus Christi International Airport, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Bay, Incorporated, opened on the 21st day of July, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $27,000 out of the No. 245 Airport Bond Fund of which $23,232.50 is for the landscaping contract and $3,767.50 is for additional engineering, legal advertising and contingency expenses applicable to Project No. 245-77-11, Miscellaneous Landscaping. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to expedite the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of August, 1982.
