CLOSING THE NORTHERN 20 -FOOT WIDE UNIMPROVED ALLEY
ABUTTING LOTS 7 THROUGH 14 AND THE 20 -FOOT WIDE
ALLEY BETWEEN LOT 7 AND LOT 14, IN BLOCK 2, JONES
ADDITION, BETWEEN MEXICO STREET AND JOSEPHINE STREET;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, an unimproved alley exists which abuts Lots 7 through
14 and an alley between Lot 7 and Lot 14, being in Block 2, Jones Addition,
between Mexico and Josephine Streets, as recorded in Volume 3, Page 17, Map
Records, Nueces County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and advantageous ,
to the City of Corpus Christi to abandon said alley, subject to the provisions
that the abutting property owners furnish a drainage plan for Lots 12 and 13,
Block 2 at the location of the alley:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the northern 20 -foot side unimproved alley
which abuts Lots 7 throught 14, and the 20 -foot wide alley between Lot 7 and
Lot 14, both alleys being in Block 2, Jones Addition, as recorded in Volume 3,
Page 17, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, between Mexico Street and Josephine
Street, conditioned upon the abutting property owner furnishing a drainage
plan for Lots 12 and 13, Block 2, Jones Addition, at the location of the
alley.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by closing the aforesaid alley in
consideration of the abutting property owners furnish a drainage plan for Lots
12 and 13, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension
of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions
at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the //'ay of August, 1982.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it 13
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
