HomeMy WebLinkAbout17203 ORD - 08/11/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF ROBERT MALDONADO BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OF LOT 5 AND ALL OF LOT 6, BLOCK 4, MORRIS AND MITCHELL'S EXTENSION OF SOUTH END ADDITION FROM "B-1" NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT TO "B-4" GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Robert Maldonado for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, August 11, 1982, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general Welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on the hereinafter described tract or parcel of land, being described as a portion of Lot 5 and all of Lot 6, Block 4, Morris and Mitchell's Extension of South End Addition, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "B -l" Neighborhood Business District to "8-4" General Business District: West half (W/2) of Lot Five (5) and all of Lot Six (6), Block Four (4), MORRIS AND MITCHELL'S EXTENSION OF SOUTH END ADDITION, an addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by the map or plat thereof, recorded in Volume A, Page 18, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at iron rod at intersection of East boundary line of Brownlee Boulevard a 50 foot street and North boundary line of Morris Avenue a 50 foot street; said point being Southwest corner of Lot 6 and Southwest corner of Block 4; 17203 .SiP 2 1984 MICRUilmED THENCE, North 50 30 00" West along East boundary line of Brownlee Boulevard and West property line of Lot 6, a distance of 140.78 feet to an iron pipe for Northwest corner of Lot 6 and Northwest corner of Block 4; THENCE North 800 42' 20" East along North boundary line of Block 4 at 48.27 ft, the Northeast corner of Lot 6, in all a distance of 72 feet to iron pipe for Northeast corner of this tract; THENCE South 50 30' 00" East a distance of 141.905 feet to an iron pipe in North boundary line of Morris Avenue and South boundary line of Block 4 for Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE South 81° 36' West along North boundary line of Morris Avenue and South boundary line of Block 4, at 24.11 feet pass the Southwest corner of Lot 5 and Southeast corner of Lot 6, in all a distance of 72.33 feet to POINT OF BEGINNING. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the // day of 19_1(Ja__!
