HomeMy WebLinkAbout17204 ORD - 08/12/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY AMENDING ARTICLE 7A, SECTION 7A-2, USE REGULATIONS OF THE "T -1A" TRAVEL TRAILER PARK DISTRICT BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION; AMEND SECTION 7A-2, BY DELETING THE PRESENT SUBSECTION (1) AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR A NEW SUBSECTION (1); AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning certain amendments to the text of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, August 11, 1982, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is hereby amended by amending Article 7A, Section 7A-2, Use Regulations of the "T -1A" Travel Trailer Park District by adding a new Subsection to be numbered 15 and read as follows: (15) Any of the following uses provided such uses are accessory to the use of the property as a travel trailer park and do not occupy more than 1/3 of the area within the travel trailer park development. (a) Barber shops; 4 (b) Beauty parlors; (c) Dry cleaning receiving stations; (d) Self-service laundries (clothing or car wash); (e) Drive-in restaurant and other restaurants, but excluding taverns, lounges, and bars; (f) Convenience grocery stores of less than 4,000 square feet; (g) Child care centers; (h) Filling stations. None of the above described uses shall be allowed to operate in travel trailers or mobile homes. 17204 sgp281984' MICROFILMED SECTION 2. That Article 7A, Section 7A-2, be amended by deleting the present Subsection (1) and substituting therefor a new Subsection (1) to read as follows: Christi, Christi, to time, herewith (1) A permit to construct, alter or extend any travel trailer park area may be issued only when such area is located within the appropriate zoning district as provided for in this Ordinance and such area consists of at least three (3) acres in size with a minimum frontage of one hundred (100) feet located on a public street or highway, provided, however, such area occupied by a travel trailer park may be less than three (3) acres in size if operated in conjunction with, in the same ownership of, and contiguous to or directly across a public right-of-way of not more than one hundred twenty (120) feet in width, from a motel or mobile home park operation both of which constitute three (3) acres or more in size meeting all zoning ordinance requirements. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an efficient administration of City affairs by comprehensive zoning ordinance, such finding declared requiring suspension of the Charter voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three ordinance is passed airnd. shall take effect upon measure this the _41.1 --day of August, 1982.
