AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING TUE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 2, DIVISION 3, INDUSTRIAL
BOARD, 'TO BE RENAMED THE CORPUS CHRISTI BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION; AND PROVIDING FOR MEMBERSHIP AND
A CHAIRMAN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus
Christi, Division 3. Industrial Board, Section 2-260. Membership; Chairman,
be amended so that said division and section shall hereafter read as follows:
DIVISION 3. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
Section 2-260. Name; Membership; chairman.
The municipal industrial board, created by city charter Article V, Section
13, shall be known as the Corpus Christi Business Development Commission.
The commission shall consist of thirteen (13) voting members, nine (9) of
whom shall be residents of the city to serve for two (2) year terms,
nominated by the mayor and appointed by the city council. The chairman of
the commission shall be selected by nomination of the mayor and appointed by
the city council. The commission shall include an ex -officio membership with
voting rights as hereafter designated:
(1) The city manager;
(2) The president of the Chamber of Commerce;
(3) The port director of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority;
(4) The county judge of Nueces County.
