HomeMy WebLinkAbout17245 ORD - 09/08/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 17151 BY REDUCING THE ANNUAL AD VALOREM TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF CURRENT OPERATION EXPENSES AND REDUCING THE ANNUAL AD VALOREM TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF 4 PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON ALL OUTSTANDING CITY BONDS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance 17151 be amended by reducing the annual ad valorem tax for the payment of current operational expenses from 364: on each $100 of value thereof to 34.67¢ per $100 of value, and reducing the annual ad valorem tax for the payment of principal and interest on all outstanding City of Corpus Christi bonds from 23¢ to 22.134:. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance reading as an emergency measure 1982.
