HomeMy WebLinkAbout17246 RES - 09/08/1982A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Mr. Henry Nuss III, Attorney at Law, has recently completed a fifteen year tenure on, the Civil Service Board and on the Civil Service Commission for the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, Henry Nuss III, has since October of 1967 tirelessly devoted himself to the discharge of his duties both serving as member and as Chair for the Civil Service Board and the Civil Service Commission for the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, his work in and for the community, both on the Civil Service Board and the Civil Service Commission and often has been a model of public service and civic responsibility to all of us, and an inspiration to us who hold this City dear, and have chosen it as our home: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: 'SECTION 1. That we, as the governing body of the City of Corpus Christi and representatives of its citizens, do hereby express the appreciation of this City and all of its citizens to Henry Nuss III on the occasion of his retirement from the official duties as Chair and member of the Civil Service Board and the Civil Service Commission of the City, and the continuation of his activities as a leader in the community. We publicly express our gratitude and wish him well. SECTION 2. Be it further resolved that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to Henry Huss III. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to express the City's appreciation to Henry Huss III upon his retirement, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this resolution is passed and shall take 17246 SEP 28 1984 MICROFILMED effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the "a..4., day of , 1982.
