HomeMy WebLinkAbout17248 ORD - 09/08/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY AMENDING ARTICLE 29, THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT, SECTION 29-3 SPECIAL USE EXCEPTION, SUBSECTION 29-3.10 TEMPORARY AND CONDITIONAL PERMIT FOR A TWO YEAR PERIOD TOADD ITEM 5 REGARDING DIRECTIONAL SIGNS AND TO AMEND ARTICLE 3, DEFINITIONS TO ADD A NEW SUBSECTION 3-1.56.1.SIpN, DIRECTIONAL. WHEREAS, the Planning COmmission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning amendment to the text of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, July 20, 1982, at Special Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: k SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is hereby Virilended bi amending Article 29, The Board of Adjustment, Section 29-3 Specie Use Exception, Subsection 29-3.10 Temporary and Conditional Permit for a Two Year Period to add the following item No. 5: "(5) Directional signs not over 25 feet in height and 200 square feet in area on vacant property for a term of one year only, provided however, such permit may be extended a maximum of one additional year upon approval by the board." SECTION 2. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is hereby amended by amending Article 3, Definitions, Section 3-1, to add a new Subsection 3.1.56.1 to read as follows: 3-1.56.1. Sign, Directional. An off premise sign whose content is limited to identification information of a specific property located elsewhere and which tells the location of or route to that property." SEP 2 8 1984 MICROFILM EU 11218 SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
