AMENDING THE STORM DRAINAGE AND SANITARY SEWER MASTER
PLANS FOR THE AREA WEST OF CALALLEN BY MODIFYING NATURAL
DRAINAGEWAYS, REDUCING THE SANITARY SEWER INFILTRATION
ALLOWANCE, AND ADOPTING CONCEPT OF INSTALLING STAGED OR
MULTIPLE LINES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Storm Drainage and Sanitary Sewer Master Plans
for the Area West of Calallen (Five Points) as adopted by Ordinance No. 16927
on March 10, 1982, be amended by modifying the natural drainageways to the
Nueces River by providing velocity reduction structures with design flows of
less than five feet per second, providing for reducing the sanitary sewer
infiltration allowance of 1,000 gallons per acre per day to 200 gallons per
acre per day, and adopting a concept of installing staged or multiple (double
lines) providing for adequate easements.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient and effective administration of City affairs by amending the Storm
Drainage and Master Sewer Plans as aforementioned, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the xr- day of September, 1982.

suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is.
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
