AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE BUILDING CODE BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE
FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAP DATED OCTOBER 31, 1975;
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The Building Code adopted by Ordinance No. 15256 passed
and approved by the City Council on December 12, 1979, as amended is hereby
amended by amending Chapter XXXIII thereof by adding a new section 3306, said
section 3306 to read as follows:
3306 - Basis for Establishing the Areas of Special Flood Hazard.
The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Emergency
Management Agency on the flood insurance rate map, dated October 31, 1975,
with any revisions thereto, are hereby adopted by reference and declared to
be a part of this ordinance."
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption of this
ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph subdivision, clause, phrase, word,
or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
