AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF WAYNE
LUNDQUIST, TRUSTEE, BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN
REFERENCE TO A PORTION OUT OF THE ERNEST BARKLEY 15 ACRE
TRACT OUT OF THE A.V. CALE 25 ACRE TRACT OUT OF THE MAGEE
ESTATE OUT OF THE GREGORIO FARIAS GRANT FROM "1-2" LIGHT
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "T-16" MOBILE HOME PARK DISTRICT;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council
its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Wayne
Lundquist, Trustee, for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice
to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday,
September 15, 1982, at Special Council meeting of the City Council in the
Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided
by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would
best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare
of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on the hereinafter described tract or
parcel of land, being described as a portion out of the Ernest Barkley 15
acre tract out of the A.V. Cale 25 acre tract out of the Magee Estate out of
the Gregorio Farias Grant, be changed from "I-2" Light Industrial District to
"T-16" Mobile Home Park District:
BEGINNING at a 3/4 inch iron pipe in the center line of
Old Sharpsburg Road, said pipe being the Northerly East
corner of the Ernest Barkley 15 acre tract and also the
Northerly East corner of this tract;
THENCE South 590 21' East along the center line of said
road a distance of 80.98 feet to a point;
THENCE South 52° 21' East along the West right-of-way of
Old Sharsburg Road a distance of 600.0 feet to a point;

THENCE South 42° 45' East a distance of 59.31 feet to a
3/4 inch iron pipe, said pipe being the Southerly East
corner of this tract;
THENCE South 590 24' West a distance of 703.10 feet to a
3/4 inch iron pipe in the East right-of-way line of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad, said pipe being the Southerly
West corner of this tract;
THENCE in a Northerly West direction along the East
right-of-way line of said railraod on a 10 58' curve a
distance of 511.87 feet to a 3/4 inch iron rod for the
Northerly West corner of the Ernest Barkley 15 acre tract
and also the Northerly West corner of this tract;
THENCE North 370 31' East along the North boundary line
of said Barkley 15 acre tract a distance of 469.91 feet
to the POINT OF BEGINNING, and, being the same property
described in deed from Ernest Barkley and wife, Nannie
Barkley, to V.D. Davidson, dated March 19, 1953, filed
for record March 25, 1953, under File #370266.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from
time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and
effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall tak effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council. '
