AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE
CONTRACT WITH ISLES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY WHICH PROVIDES
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF APPROXIMATELY 350 LINEAR FEET OF
SANITARY SEWER IN MEDITERRANEAN DRIVE; APPROPRIATING
$12,152.50; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute Change
Order No. 1 to the contract with Isles Construction Company for the
Miscellaneous Sanitary Sewer Improvements (Lake View Acres and Maui Drive)
which provides for the construction of approximately 350 linear feet of
8 -inch diameter sanitary sewer in Mediterranean Drive from Laguna Shores Road
to Maui Drive, a copy of which change order is attached hereto and made a
part hereof marked Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $12,152.50 from the
No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 250-77-37, Lake
View Acres Extension.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting
the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made
and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed and shall take eyfect upon first reading as an emergency

Why was this change necessary? (If left off the plans and specifications, explain why.)
To install an 8" V.C.P. sanitary sewer line along the north side of Mediterranean from
Laguna Shores Road to Maui Drive (see attached sketch). See attached memo for explanation
of why the line was left off the plans.
How can similar changes be avoided in the future?
