AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE CONTRACT WITH A.
ORTIZ ASPHALT PAVING COMPANY TO PROVIDE FOR STORM SEWER
EXTENSION IN COASTAL AVENUE TO SURFSIDE; APPROPRIATING
$17,556 FOR SAID CHANGE ORDER; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
Change Order No. 1 to the contract with A. Ortiz Asphalt Paving Company for
the North Shoreline Boulevard Street Improvement Project which provides for
the construction of a 24diameter 'storm sewer in Coastal Avenue from North
Shoreline Boulevard to Surfside Boulevard, all as more fully set forth in the
Change Order, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof marked Exhibit "A."
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $17,556 from the
Seventh Year Community Development Block Grant Project No. 162-152-807.05
Code 502, Surfside to Timon Connection applicable to Project No. 220-77-5,
North Shoreline: Canal to Coastal.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
execute the aforementioned change order so that the North Shoreline Boulevard
Improvement Project can proceed as soon as possible, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take fect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the Ogiday of
1982.

Surfside-Timon Blvd. connection per scope of 7th Year Community Development Block Grant
Program. Owner of Block 8, Brooklyn Addition to pay $5.00/L.F. toward cost of 24" line of
this change order.
