AN ORDINANCE
CLOSING AND ABANDONING THE 50 FOOT WIDE PORTION OF
LAWNVIEW FROM AYERS STREET TO BOOTY STREET; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, a 50 foot wide right-of-way exists on Lawnview Street from
Ayers Street to Booty Street as shown by Plat of Bay Terrace Unit 2, as
recorded in Volume A, Page 26, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and
advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi to abandon said right-of-way
providing that the westerly one-half of said 50 foot right-of-way be retained
as a utility easement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the 50 foot wide right-of-way on Lawnview Street
from Ayers Street to Booty Street as shown by Plat of Bay Terrace Unit 2, as
recorded in Volume A, Page 26, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, be closed
and abandoned providing that the easterly one-half be reverted to lot owners
in Block 503, Bay Terrace Unit 2, and the westerly one-half be reverted to
adjacent lot owners in Block 603, Bay Terrace Unit 2, retaining said westerly
one-half of the 50 foot right-of-way as a utility easement.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find a declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by closing and abandoning the
aforesaid right-of-way such finding of an emergency is made and declared
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is
passed a shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this
the Liay of October, 1982.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
