AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR
THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 2 FOR THE SPOHN HOSPITAL AREA
STREET IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute the
documents necessary for the acquisition of Parcel 2 for the Spohn Hospital
Area Street Improvements Project, all as more fully set forth in the the
contract, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof, marked Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting
the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made
and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency
measure this t4,260 day of , 1982.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
That Gary Arnold of the County of Nueces, State of Texas and J. T.
Tollett lasoixidif:=atk of the County of Bexar, State of Texas, for and in
consideration of the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred Fifty Dollars and no cents
($2,550.00)
to us in hand paid by the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, the re-
ceipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted and conveyed and by these
presents do grant and convey unto the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
,Texas, a municipal corporation duly incorporated under and by virtue of the laws
Of the State of Texas, its successors and legal representatives, the free and
uninterrupted use, liberty, privilege, and easement of going,in, on, over, under,
and along a certain_tract of land situated in Nueces County, Texas, and being
described as follows;
Being a tract of land out of Lot 12, Block 6, Bay Terrace Addition as
shown by map of record in Volume A, Page 23, Nueces County, Texas:
Beginning at a point being the northwest corner of said Lot 12 and
being the intersection of the south right-of-way line of Hancock
Street and the east right-of-way line of Staples Street;
Thence N. 84° 30' E., along said Hancock Street right-of-way 125.5' to
a point with said point being the northeast corner of said Lot 12;
Thence S. 78° 49' 47" W., 70.85' to a point 7.0' south of the south
right-of-way line of Hancock Street;
Thence S. 84° 30' W., 55.00' along a line 7.0' south of and parallel
to the south right-of-way line of Hancock Street to a point on the
east right-of-way line of S. Staples Street;
Thence N. 50 30' W., along the east right-of-way line of S. Staples
Street 7.00' to the point of beginning and containing 631.75 square
feet, more or less.
A map of which is marked "Exhibit A", and attached hereto and made a
part hereof for all purposes.

Together with the free ingress, egress, and regrss to and for the City
of Corpus Christi, for the purpose of constructing streets, sidewalks, curbs,
gutters and appurtenances upon said tract and way for the public use by foot,
with automobiles, carts, carriages, and all other vehicles and all other means of
transportation necessary or convenient at all times and in all seasons in, along,
and upon said tract and way, as well as for laying, repairing, servicing, and
maintaining of public utility lines and storm sewers in, on, over, under and a-
long said tract or way.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, all and singular, the rights and privileges afore-
said to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, its successors and legal representa-
tives and the public, for the proper use as public streets and utility easements,
or utility easements for so long as used for such purposes or any of them, and if
the use for said tract and way for all of said uses be ever abandoned, then in
that event, the aforesaid rights and privileges shall cease, and all rights here-
in granted shall revert to the Grantor herein, his heirs or assigns.
