HomeMy WebLinkAbout17330 ORD - 10/27/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY DESIGNATING THE WEST ONE-HALF OF BLOCK 70 AND LOTS 2 THROUGH 12, BLOCK 61, BEACH ADDITION, WITH THE HISTORICAL -CULTURAL LANDMARK DESIGNATION, IN ADDITION TO THE PRESENT ZONING DESIGNATION ON SAID PARCELS OR TRACTS; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ZONING ORDINANCE AS AME,NDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DEtLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and the Landmark Commission have forwarded to the City Council their reports and recommendations concerning the designation of the west one-half of Block 70 and Lots 2 through 12, Block 61, Beach Addition, for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, October 27, 1982 at Special Council Meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record in Volume 9, Pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 12315, which ordinance provided for establishment of the Historical -Cultural Landmark Preservation designation by adding Article 28A to the Zoning Ordinance of the City, be and the same is hereby amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That in addition to the present designation established in the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance for the west one-half of Block 70 and Lots 2 through 12, Block 61, Beach Addition, situated in the City of Corpus 11330 SEP 2 8 1984 ,..iiut1LMEEL MICROFILMED Christi, Nueces County, Texas, said west one-half of Block 70 and Lots 2 through 12, Block 61, Beach Addition, be and the same shall hereafter be designated as a historical -cultural landmark, bearing the suffix "HC" to so indicate. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained to reflect the designation of a historical -cultural landmark by the letter "HC" as a suffix to any other use designation established in the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning designation, such finding of an emergency is made and declare requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances and resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the „127 day of October, 1982.
