HomeMy WebLinkAbout17331 ORD - 10/27/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE SO AS TO AMEND ARTICLE 33, SECTION 33-1 PERMITS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi be amended by amending Article 33, Permits, Plats and Filing Fees, by adding a new paragraph between paragraphs one and two in Section 33-1, Permits to read as follows: Temporary conditional permits can be issued by the building official to allow the placement in any zoning district of a mobile home or travel trailer on an emergency basis for the purpose of serving as temporary substitute for a residential unit rendered unusable by fire, explosion, windstorm, or similar cause. The permit will be valid for six months and allow the building official to waive other City regulations such as, but not limited to, building lines to allow placement of the mobile home or travel trailer on the property. The building official may extend the permit to allow completion of a permanent replacement dwelling, but in no case shall the duration of the temporary placement exceed nine months nor can a new permit be issued. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by amending the Zoning Ordinance as stated above, such finding of an emergency is made ,,and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings s; that this ordinance is passed and.shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this'the ;27 day of October: 1982.
