HomeMy WebLinkAbout17350 ORD - 11/10/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 8127, SECTION 501, SALARY SCHEDULES, BY DELETING THE EXISTING TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME SCHEDULE AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR A REVISED SCHEDULE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance 8127, Section 501, Salary Schedules, be amended by deleting the existing temporary and part-time schedule and substituting therefor the following revised schedule: * TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME SCHEDULE SCHEDULE C Revised November 10, 1982 (Step A) (Step B) (Step C) (Step D) Salary After 3 After 6 After 9 Grade Entrance Months Months Months 1 $3.18 $3.29 $3.47 $3.64 2 3.18 3.29 3.47 -- **3 3.35 3.58 3.70 4 3.58 3.70 -- 5 3.58 3.70 3.93 -- 6 3.93 4.05 4.22 4.33 * Refer to Section 652, Advancement in Salary for Part -Time Employees, in implementing these scheduled hourly rates. ** All trainees hired prior to November 11, 1982, being compensated at an hourly rate of $3.58 or $3.70 as authorized by Ordinance 17152 of July 28, 1982, will remain frozen at those levels for the term of their training period. All trainees hired after November 10, 1982, will be employed at the minimum wage rate of $3.35 per hour and remain at that level for the term of their training period. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by amending the aforementioned salary schedule, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /Qay of November, 1982.
