AN ORDINANCE
CLOSING AND ABANDONING THE 10 FOOT WIDE UTILITY EASEMENT
ADJACENT TO THE NORTH BOUNDARY OF LOT 16, BLOCK 5,
LANTANA INDUSTRIAL AREA; PROVIDING FOR REPLATTING OF SAID
LOT 16; PROVIDING THAT APPLICANT DEDICATES AN EASEMENT TO
REPLACE THE TEN FOOT WIDTH ADJACENT TO THE SOUTH BOUNDARY
OF LOT 16; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, a 10 foot wide utility easement exists adjacent to the
north boundary of Lot 16, Block 5, Lantana Industrial Area, as recorded in
Volume 45, Page 7, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, from Lantana Street
approximately 494 feet eastward to the existing 10 foot utility easement
running northward and southward; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and
advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi to abandon said utility easement
provided that said Lot 16, Block 5, Lantana Industrial Area be replatted at
the owners expense, and providing that applicant dedicates an easement to
replace the 10 foot width adjacent to the south boundary of said Lot 16.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the 10 foot wide utility easement adjacent to the
north boundary of Lot 16, Block 5, Lantana Industrial Area, as recorded in
Volume 45, Page 7, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, be closed and abandoned
providing that said Lot 16 be replatted at the owners expense, and providing
that the applicant dedicates an easement to replace the 10 foot width
adjacent to the south boundary of said Lot 16.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find a declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by closing and abandoning the
aforesaid utility easement such finding of an emergency is made and declared
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is

passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
