HomeMy WebLinkAbout17388 ORD - 12/15/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 16739 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 IN ORDER TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS_ ON CARROLL LANE AND MULBERRY STREET; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 16739, passed and approved December 9, 1981, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on Carroll Lane, from South Staples Street to Gollihar Road; Carroll Lane, from South Padre Island Drive to Tiger Lane; and Mulberry Street, from Carroll Lane to Willow Lane, a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /J4 day of December, 1982. ATTEST: ity Secretary APPROVED J'/ DAY OF DECEMBER, 1982 Bruce Aycockl Cfty 'ttorney ,l/J TH OITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS SEP *z 6 1984 17388 MICROFILMED FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL CARROLL LANE AND MULBERRY STREET STREET IMPROVEMENTS DECEMBER 15, 1982 This project shall include improvements to the following streets: (1) Carroll Lane, from South Staples Street to Gollihar Road, (2) Carroll Lane, from South Padre Island Drive to Tiger Lane, and (3) Mulberry Street, from Carroll Lane to Willow Street. These improvements shall provide for a roadway of 44' and 40' wide on Carroll Lane and 28' wide on Mulberry Street within the existing right-of-way. Carroll Lane will be constructed with a 6" stablized subgrade, a 11" flexible base and 11/4" Asphaltic Concrete Pavement. Mulberry Street will be constructed with a 6" stabl- ized subgrade, a 8" flexible base and 114" Asphaltic Concrete Pavement. All streets will have standard curb and gutter sections, 4" thick reinforced concrete sidewalks and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways as shown on the plans. This project is being constructed jointly by the City and the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and is an improvement assessment project. Based on the low bid submitted by Asphalt Paving and Construction Company and the City's current assessment policy, abutting property owners are assessed as follows: BID PRICE ASSESSMENT RATE CARROLL LANE Curb, Gutter & Pavement $26.03 L.F. $19.50 L.F.
