AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF AL
HOGAN, BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A
PORTION OF LOTS 9 AND 10, SECTION 19, FLOUR BLUFF AND
ENCINAL FARM AND GARDEN TRACTS FROM "A-1" APARTMENT HOUSE
DISTRICT TO "R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council
its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Al Hogan, for
amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice
to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday,
December 22, 1982, at Regular Council meeting of the City Council in the
Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided
by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would
best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare
of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on the hereinafter described tract of
land described as a portion of Lots 9 and 10, Section 19, Flour Bluff and
Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, situated in the City of Corpus Christi,
Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "A-1" Apartment House District to
"R -1B" One -family Dwelling District:
FIELDNOTES for 15.63 acres of land out of Lots 9 and 10,
Section 19, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden
Tracts, a map of which is recorded in Volume A, Pages
141, 142, and 143, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas:
BEGINNING at a point on the Northeast boundary line of
Wooldridge Road for the South corner of this tract from
which corner the South corner of said Lot 9, Section 19
bears South 29° 01' 00" West 30.00 feet to a point on the
centerline of Wooldridge Road, same being the Southeast
boundary line of said Lot 9, thence South 60° 59' 00"
East, along said centerline, 367.66 feet;

THENCE North 60° 59' 00" West, with said Northeast
boundary line of Wooldridge Road, parallel to the above
mentioned centerline thereof and 30.00 feet distant
therefrom, measured at right angles thereto, 893.26 feet
to the point of intersection of said Northeast boundary
line with the Southeast boundary line of a 97.50 foot
wide drainage easement (Mary Carroll Ditch) for the West
corner of this tract;
THENCE North 29° 00' 00" East, leaving said Northeast
boundary line of Wooldridge Road, along said Southeast
boundary of the above mentioned ditch, 614.70 feet for
the North corner of this tract;
THENCE South 60° 57' 30" East 1223.41 feet to a point on
the Northwest boundary line of Rodd Field Road (Highway
357) for the East corner of this tract;
THENCE South 28° 27' 55" West, with said Northwest
boundary line, parallel to the centerline thereof and
60.00 feet distant therefrom, measured at right angles
thereto, 307.03 feet for a corner of this tract;
THENCE North 61° 32' 05" West, leaving said Northwest
boundary line of Rodd Field Road, 139.49 feet for an
inside corner of this tract;
THENCE South 61° 20' 00" West 361.85 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from
time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and
effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning
change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take ect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the gyp?

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
