AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY AMENDING SECTION
13-2(4), SECTION 15-2(5), AND SECTION 16-2(5) TO CLARIFY
THE USES WITHIN THOSE DISTRICTS; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi
be amended by amending Section 13-2(4) to hereafter read as follows:
13-2(4) Custom dressmaking and tailoring not involving a
factory, shoe repair, household appliance repair, custom
cleaning shop not involving bulk or commercial type
plants; household furniture upholstery shop accessory to
retail furniture sales, and bakeries.
SECTION 2. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi
be amended by amending Section 15-2(5) to hereafter read as follows:
15-2(5) Sales and repair of plumbing, heating,
electrical, and air-conditioning equipment, and tire
sales and service. Wholesale house of not more than
6,000 square feet in floor area.
SECTION 3. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi
be amended by amending Section 16-2(5) to hereafter read as follows:
16-2(5) Sales and repair of plumbing, heating,
electrical, and air-conditioning equipment, and tire
sales and service. Wholesale house of not more than
6,000 square feet in floor area.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient and effective administration of City affairs by amending the Zoning
Ordinance text as aforementioned, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency
measure this the,2,2 day of December, 1982.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
