ADOPTING THE CORPUS CHRISTI BAYFRONT PLAN; PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL, SEVERANCE, AND PUBLICATION;
WHEREAS, the Corpus Christi Bayfront Plan (hereinafter the "Plan")
has been duly presented to the City Council with the recommendations of the
Planning Commission, and numerous public hearings on the Plan have been held,
including the public hearing before this City Council on Wednesday,
November 24, 1982;
WHEREAS, the Plan consists of a compilation of previous plans and
programs for the orderly development of the bayfront and incorporates many of
the various ideas submitted by concerned members of the public; and
WHEREAS, the prompt adoption of the Plan will greatly assist and
encourage the responsible development of one of the City's most prized
natural assets, its bayfront;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi Bayfront Plan, a copy of which
is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference, is
adopted as the master plan for the bayfront, the areas of which are more
specifically described in the Plan.
SECTION 2. That all previous master plans dealing with the subject
are hereby repealed, and the Plan, and any amendments thereto, is established
as the sole master plan for development of the bayfront.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
phrase, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective upon publication one
time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing
the caption of this ordinance stating the purpose, intent, and effect of the
aforesaid ordinance.
