AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH GOLDSTON
CORPORATION FOR THE ALLISON WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
INTERIM IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; APPROPRIATING $250,000 FOR
THIS CONTRACT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a
contract with Goldston Corporation for the Allison Wastewater Treatment Plant
Interim Improvements Project all as more fully set forth in the plans and
specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City
Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to
the bid of Goldston Corporation opened on the 22nd day of December, 1982,
said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus
Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $250,000 out of the
No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund of which $234,070 is for the contract award
and $15,930 is for additional engineering, testing, legal advertising, and
incidental and related expenses applicable to Project No. 250-77-17, Allison
Wastewater Treatment Plant Interim Improvements.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting
the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made
and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
