AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 53-254, SCHEDULE
V -INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES, WHICH
WILL CHANGE THE SPEED LIMIT ON PORTIONS OF McKINZIE ROAD,
AYERS STREET, GREENWOOD DRIVE, AND AGNES STREET;
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Code be amended by
changing the speed limits on portions of McKinzie Road, Ayers Street,
Greenwood Drive, and Agnes Street as follows:
McKinzie Road
Delete "All that portion within the city limits - 45 m.p.h. At All
Times."
Add "From the north city limits to a point approximately 300 feet
south of Leopard Street - 35 m.p.h. At All Times."
Add "From a point approximately 300 feet south of Leopard Street to
a point approximately 300 feet south of Kingsbury Drive - 40 m.p.h.
At All Times."
Add "From a point approximately 300 feet south of Kingsbury Drive
to the south city limits - 45 m.p.h. At All Times."
Ayers Street
Delete "Beginning at a point approximately 50 feet north of Johanna
Street (Sta. 197+50) to a point approximately 25 feet south of
Civitan Drive (Sta. 213+00), - 45 m.p.h. At All Times."
Delete "From a point approximately 25 feet south of Civitan Drive
(Sta. 213+00) to a point approximately 1954.40 feet north of the
south city limit (Sta. 265+00) - 50 m.p.h. At All Times."
Add "From a point approximately 30 feet north of Johanna Street
(Sta. 197+50) to a point approximately 110 feet south of Etring
Street (Sta. 236+40) - 40 m.p.h. At All Times."
Add "From a point approximately 110 feet south of Etring Street
(Sta. 236+40) to a point approximately 1954.40 feet north of the
city limit (Sta. 265+00) - 50 m.p.h. At All Times."
Greenwood Drive
Delete "From South Padre Island Drive to the south city limits - 45
m.p.h. At All Times."
Add "From South Padre Island Drive (SH 358) to a point
approximately 300 feet south of Gavilan Drive - 35 m.p.h. except
when school zone speed flashers indiciating 15 m.p.h. are displayed
250 feet each side of Frio Street."
Add "From a point approximately 300 feet south of Gavilan Drive to
the south city limit - 40 m.p.h. At All Times."
Agnes Street
Delete "From a point approximately 490 feet east of Commerce Street
(Sta. 363+97) to a point approximately 280 feet west of Rusk Street
(Sta. 370+50) - 45 m.p.h. At All Times."

SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this
ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of the
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
