REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBERS 14307 AND 14429 WHICH
PROVIDED FOR A CONTRACT WITH CHRISTIAN, BRIGHT, AND
PENNINGTON FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE MULTICULTURAL CENTER; CANCELLING THE
UNEXPENDED APPROPRIATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance Numbers 14307 and 14429 which provided
for a contract with Christian, Bright, and Pennington for architectural and
related services for the construction of the Multicultural Center are hereby
repealed on mutual consent of both the City and Christian, Bright, and
Pennington.
SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $48,200 applicable to Project
No. 265-77-1, Multicultural Center, is hereby cancelled and made available
for reappropriation in this project within the No. 265 Multicultural Center
Bond Fund.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to immediate
need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by repealing
the abovementioned ordinances, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
