HomeMy WebLinkAbout17467 ORD - 02/09/1983A• j AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THE 40 FOOT WIDE STRIP "DEDICATED FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES" ON THE PLAT OF LOT 13A, LOKEY SUBDIVISION; RETAINING 10 FEET OF SAID 40 FOOT STRIP ALONG THE NORTH SIDE AS A DRAINAGE EASEMENT AND RETAINING THE REMAINING 30 FEET OF SAID STRIP AS CENTRAL POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY EASEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, a 40 foot wide strip "dedicated for public purposes" on the plat of Lot 13A, Lokey Subdivision, as recorded in Volume 25, Page 26, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi to abandon said strip, retaining 10 feet of said 40 foot strip along the north side, being that which is adjacent to the existing drainage easement, as drainage easement and retaining the remaining 30 feet of said strip as Central Power and Light Company easement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the 40 foot wide strip "dedicated for public purposes" on the plat of Lot 13A, Lokey Subdivision, as recorded in Volume 25, Page 26, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, be closed and abandoned. SECTION 2. That the 10 feet of said 40 foot strip along the north side, being that which is adjacent to the existing drainage easement, be retained as a drainage easement, and that the remaining 30 feet of said strip be retained as a Central Power and Light easement. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by closing and abandoning the aforesaid 40 foot strip, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is 174.G7 M1CRUEILMED SEP 2 81984 passed a shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of February, 1983.
