HomeMy WebLinkAbout17487 ORD - 02/16/1983AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO A PORTION OF LOT 2, NUECES RIVER IRRIGATION PARK ANNEX 2, FROM "R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "B-4" GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of City of Corpus Christi for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, February 16, 1983, at Special Council meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on the hereinafter described tract of land described as a portion of Lot 2, Nueces River Irrigation Park Annex 2, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling District to "B-4" General Business District: Being a 0.918 acre tract, more or less, out of Lot 2, Nueces River Irrigation Park Annex 2 as shown on plat of record in Volume 41, Page 53, Nueces County Plat Records, Nueces County, Texas, and more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of said Lot 2, Nueces River Irrigation Park Annex 2, on the North right-of-way line of FM 624 for the Southwest corner of this tract; THENCE North 05° 51' 00" East with the West boundary line of said Lot 2, a distance of 200.00 feet, more or less, to a point on the present city limit line for the Northwest corner of this tract; SEP 2 81984 .174.87MICRYFILNIED .t� THENCE South 84° 09' 00" East with said present city limit line, which is 200' from and parallel to the North right-of-way line of said FM 624, a distance of 200.00 feet, more or less, to a point on the East boundary line of said Lot 2 for the Northeast corner of this tract; THENCE South 05° 51' 00" West with said East boundary line of Lot 2, a distance of 200.00 feet, more or less, to the Southeast corner of said Lot 2 on the North right-of-way line of FM 624 for the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE North 84° 09' 00" West with the South boundary line of said Lot 2 (the North right-of-way line of FM 624), a distance of 200.00 feet, more or less, to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed/ and shall take fectg�upon first reading as an emergency measure this the J}p day of 19 83 .
