HomeMy WebLinkAbout17494 ORD - 02/23/198341.2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1982-83 BUDGET BY CREATING A WORKERS COMPENSATION SELF INSURANCE FUND; CANCELLING CERTAIN APPROPRIATIONS, AND REAPPROPRIATING EQUIVALENT AMOUNTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the 1982-83 budget be amended by creating a Workers Compensation Self Insurance Fund to account for all expenditures related to Workers Compensation claims, administration and other related costs. SECTION 2. That the following contributions from operating funds are hereby cancelled in the Insurance Fund and reappropriated and authorized for contributions to the Workers Compensation Self Insurance Fund: General Fund $338,279 Marina Fund 1,508 Parking Fund 1,634 Gas Fund 16,049 Wastewater Fund 42,029 Aviation Fund 7,417 Transit Fund 18,060 AID Ambulance Fund 8,464 Stores Fund 1,383 Maintenance Services Fund 11,230 Data Processing Fund 461 Golf Center Fund 1,006 Water Fund 43,705 Federal -State Grants Fund 10,141 CETA 1,634 Total $503,000 SECTION 3. That a budget is hereby authorized for the Workers Compensation Self Insurance Fund with contributions from operating funds in the amount of $503,000 and appropriations of $503,000 for an administrative services contract, claim payments, and reserves, as shown in Attachment "A". 176194. sEp 2.81984 iiinaMED SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by creating aj Workers Compensation Self Insurance Fund, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of February, 1983.
