HomeMy WebLinkAbout17539 ORD - 03/23/1983AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 57-179, PERTAINING TO AMBULANCE DRIVER PERMITS, TO DELETE THE REQUIREMENT FOR A PHYSICIAN'S STATEMENT, AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 57-179 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be amended by amending paragraph (7) of subsection (a) thereof to hereafter read as follows: (7) A statement made and certified by the applicant that he/she is not addicted to drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicating substances and that he/she has no physical or psychological impairment which would interfere with the performance of his/her duties. SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. • 17539 MICROFILMED SEP 2 81984 That the foregoing ordinance second reading on this the following vote: Luther Jones Betty N.
