AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 17391 RELATING TO BRIDGE
CONSTRUCTION IN BRECKENRIDGE UNIT 4 SUBDIVISION BY
PROVIDING FOR RELOCATION OF THE BRIDGE; REIMBURSING THE
CONTRACTOR FOR FUNDS PREVIOUSLY DEPOSITED BY THEM;
CHANGING THE NAME OF THE SPECIAL BRIDGE ACCOUNT;
TRANSFERRING FUNDS PREVIOUSLY DEPOSITED TO THE NEW
ACCOUNT; TRANSFERRING FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED INTO
THE NEW ACCOUNT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 17391 which authorized an agreement
with E. H. Moore Homes, Inc. and J. R. Builders, Inc. relating to bridge
construction in Breckenridge Unit 4 Subdivision is hereby amended by
providing for said bridge to be relocated approximately 1,000 feet southwest
to Cedar Pass Drive.
SECTION 2. That E. H. Moore Homes, Inc. and J. R. Builders, Inc.
be reimbursed for 50 percent of $23,896, of $11,948, previously deposited by
them.
SECTION 3. That the name of the special bridge account is hereby
changed from "Breckenridge Unit 4 Bridge Construction" to "Cedar Pass Drive
Bridge Construction".
SECTION 4. That there is hereby transferred 50 percent of $23,896
or $11,948, previously deposited in the Breckenridge Unit 4 Bridge
Construction Fund to the Cedar Pass Drive Bridge Construction Fund.
Section 5. That there is hereby transferred $66,908 previously
appropriated and placed in the Breckenridge Unit 4 Bridge Construction Fund
to the Cedar Pass Drive Bridge Construction Fund.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting
the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made
and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this

ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
