HomeMy WebLinkAbout17576 ORD - 04/27/1983• TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH GOLDSTON CORPORATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A CLARIFIER AT THE ALLISON WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT; APPROPRIATING $447,000 FOR THIS CONTRACT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a contract with Goldston Corporation for construction of a clarifier at the Allison Wastewater Treatment Plant, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Goldston Corporation opened on the 6th day of April 1983, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $447,000 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund of which $435,152 is for the contract award, and $11,848 is for legal advertising, printing, contingencies, and related expenses applicable to Project No. 250-82-1, Allison Wastewater Treatment Plant. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency Mt measure this the o2%day of April, 1983.
