CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN IRREGULARLY SHAPED PORTION OF
CHIPITO STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY BEING ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF
CHIPITO STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY, ADJACENT TO BLOCK 64, BLUFF
PORTION, AND IMMEDIATELY WEST OF CABRA STREET; PROVIDING
FOR REPLATTING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, an irregularly shaped portion of Chipito Street
right-of-way exists being along the south side of Chipito Street
right-of-way, adjacent to Block 64, Bluff Portion, and immediately west of
Cabra Street, as shown and described by Exhibits "A" and "B", shown by plat
recorded in Volume A, Pages 2 and 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and
advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi to abandon said right-of-way,
retaining a 10 foot wide utility easement along the north side of subject
tract, provided that applicant replat all affected properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby closed and abandoned an
irregularly shaped portion of Chipito Street right-of-way, being along the
south side of Chipito Street right-of-way, adjacent to Block 64, Bluff
Portion, and immediately west of Cabra Street, as shwon and described by
attached Exhibits "A" and "B", retaining a 10 foot wide utility easement
along the north side of subject tract, shown by plat recorded in Volume A,
Pages 2 and 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, provided that applicant
replat all affected properties.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by closing and abandoning the
aforesaid right-of-way, such finding of an emergency is made and declared
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is

passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this

Being a tract of land out of the right of way of Chipito Street from Cabra to
San Juan along Lots 4, 5, 6 and 7, Block 64, Bluff Portion as shown by map of
record in Volume A, Pages 2 and 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a point being the southeast corner of said Lot 4; THENCE N. 37''00' E.
along the east line of said Lot 4 a distance of 1.30 feet to the point of beginning
of the tract of land herein described;
THENCE N. 53"001 W. along the north -line of said Lots 4, 5, 6 and 7 a distance of
257.68 feet to the northeast corner_of said Lot 7;
THENCE S. 88'16' 40" E. a distance 35.25 feet;
THENCE S. 61!33' 26" E. a'distance 40.61 feet;
THENCE S. 53'00' E. along`a line that is 26.4 felt northeast of and parallel to
the north line of said -Lots 4, 5, 6 and 7 a distance of 188.75 feet;
THENCE S. -37t00' W. a:distance of 26.4 feet to the point of beginning -and contain-
ing 6,214.98 square feet more or less.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
