AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS RELATED TO
FINANCING THE CONVERSION OF FIFTY (50) MARKED POLICE
SEDANS TO COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS WITH THE CORPUS CHRISTI
NATIONAL BANK; APPROPRIATING $112,694.00 FROM THE
UNAPPROPRIATED FUND BALANCE OF THE GAS FUND FOR THE FIRST
YEAR PAYMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute all
documents relating to financing the conversion of fifty (50) marked Police
sedans to compressed natural gas with the Corpus Christi National Bank.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $112,694.00 from the
unappropriated fund balance of the Gas fund for the first year payments.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the immediate
need for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by initiating
cost savings in the Uniform Division of the Police Department, such finding
of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this the a/ day of April, 1983.

or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
