AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 2,
ADMINISTRATION BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 2-39 ESTABLISHING
GUIDELINES FOR USE BY THE PUBLIC OF THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS
AND ADJOINING COMMITTEE ROOM.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subject to use by the City Council or other
governmental agency, the Council Chambers in the City Hall and the adjoining
Committee Room may be used by members of the public for other public meetings
upon application to the City Secretary who shall routinely permit such use
except as set out herein. Such application is a condition of use and shall
contain the following information:
1. What is the purpose of the proposed use?
2. To the best of applicant's knowledge the proposed use of such facilities
is legal, and applicant will not knowingly intend to use the property in any
illegal manner.
3. Members of the public will be afforded an opportunity to attend such
meeting and to comment and or ask questions or to petition those holding the
meeting prior to the close of the meeting.
4. Applicant shall certify or declare under penalty of perjury that such
information is true and correct.
SECTION 2. Failure to supply such information shall be deemed
cause for denial of use of such public facilities.

I understand that if this application is approved and our organization is
allowed to schedule meeting(s) in the Council Chamber, it is possible that a
meeting of the City Council or other governmental agency may be set for the date
and time which conflicts with the date of our meeting, in which case, we will
willingly cancel our meeting dates in the Council Chamber or Committee Room.
This is to certify under penalty of perjury that the information provided
above is true and correct and that I fully understand the conditions entailed in
the use of these City facilities.
