HomeMy WebLinkAbout17599 ORD - 05/11/1983AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONINGORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY ADDING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED SECTION 26-8; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi be amended by adding a new Section 26-8 to read as follows: Section 26-8 Existing single-family buildings and mobile homes, used for residential purposes which become non -conforming by adoption of a comprehensive change by amendment to this Ordinance shall not be subject to this article, Non -Conforming Uses, and shall be allowed to continue as if a conforming use. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the immediate amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to promote the health, safety and economic development of the City, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meeting so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the llth day of May, 1983.
