HomeMy WebLinkAbout17627 ORD - 06/08/1983lph AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH HI -LO ENTERPRISES FOR THE RE -LIGHTING OF THE KIWANIS SOFTBALL FIELD; APPROPRIATING $21,111 FOR THE CONTRACT AND FOR FENCE REHABILITATION AND CONTINGENCIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a contract with Hi -Lo Enterprises, Sinton, Texas, for re -lighting of the Kiwanis Softball Field, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Hi -Lo Enterprises, opened on the 5th day of May 1983, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $21,111 out of the No. 162 Federal States Grant Fund, Activity No. 162-152-807.05-502, Seventh Year Community Development Block Grant Fund of which $19,500 is for the contract award, and $1,611 is for fence rehabilitation and contingencies. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting the construction of public improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed 'Id shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the bikday of June, 1983.
