AN ORDINANCE
1
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE (5) ROOF MOUNTED
CONDENSOR PACKAGES FOR RTS II 03 MODEL BUS FROM GMC TRUCK
AND BUS GROUP COACH PARTS AND SERVICE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL
BY URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ADMINISTRATION;
APPROPRIATING $26,057.50; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given, subject to approval
by the Urban Mass Transportation Administration, for the purchase of five (5)
roof mounted condensor packages for RTS II 03 model bus from GMC Truck and
Bus Group Coach Parts and Service at a unit cost of $5,211.50 for a total of
$26,057.50 as provided for in the 1981 UMTA Capital Grant Project No.
TX -05-0073.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 218
Transit Bond Fund for Project No. 218-77-2, Transit System Capital
Improvements (1981), the amount of $26,057.50 for the purchase of five roof
mounted condensor packages.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the public
convenience and necessity of expediting the purchase of 5 condensor packages,
such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at
three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /3day of June, 1983.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
