APPROPRIATING AN ADDITIONAL $9,943.62 FROM THE NO. 209
CONVENTION CENTER BOND FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 42 FOOT
AERIAL WORK PLATFORM FOR THE CONVENTION CENTER FROM
NUECES EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY COMPANY FOR $49,943.62;
GRANTING APPROVAL FOR SUCH PURCHASE; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That an additional $9,943.62 be appropriated from the
No. 209 Convention Center Bond Fund, Project 209-76-1.3, Convention Center
Equipment, for the purchase of a 42 foot aerial work platform for the
Convention Center from Nueces Equipment and Supply Company for $49,943.62.
Ordinance No. 17527 as approved on March 16, 1983, appropriated $40,000 for
said purchase, but this amount proved to be insufficient after receiving the
bids.
SECTION 2. That approval be granted to purchase a 42 foot aerial
work platform from Nueces Equipment and Supply Company for $49,943.62,
according to the bid of Nueces Equipment and Supply Company, opened on
May 17, 1983, said bid being the only bid meeting the specifications as se't
forth in Bid Invitation No. BI -0111-83.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting
this purchase, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 414'
day of July, 1983.

and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
