AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR
THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 1 AND 2 IN CONNECTION WITH THE
FURMAN SCHOOL AREA STREET IMPROVEMENTS, PHASE I;
APPROPRIATING $1370; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute the
documents necessary for the acquisition of parcels 1 and 2 in connection with
the Furman School Area Street Improvements, Phase I, a substantial copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A."
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $1370 out of the
Eighth Year Community Development Block Grant, Fund 162, Dept. 152, Activity
870.06, Code 501.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need to
take immediate action to preserve and protect public property by expediting
the purchase of land necessary for the abovementioned street improvement
project, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the
day of July, 1983.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
That Mary E. Wright, a widow, Individually and as Independent Executrix of the
Will and Estate of J. B. Wright, Deceased; James Bailey Wright, Jr., Trustee of
the Trusts created under the Will of J. B. Wright, Deceased of the County of
Nueces, State of Texas, fot and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand One
Hundred Twenty Dollars and no cents ($1,120.00)
to us in hand paid by the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, the re-
ceipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted and conveyed and by these
presents do grant and convey unto the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas, a -municipal corporation duly incorporated under and by virtue of the laws
of the State of Texas, its successors and legal representatives, the free and
uninterrupted use, liberty, privilege, and easement of going in,' on, over, under,
and along a certain tract of land situated in Nueces County, Texas, and being
described as follows:
Being a tract of land out of Lots 11, 10 and 9, Johnson Addition, as
shown by deed of record in Volume 100, Page 313, Deed Records, Nueces
County, Texas, and more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of said Lot 11;
Thence N. 5° 30' E., along the west lines of said Lots 11, 10 and 9, a
distance of 150.0 feet to the northwest corner of said Lot 9;
Thence S. 84° 30' E., along the north line of said Lot 9, a distance of
3.26 feet to the P.C. of a circular curve to the right;
Thence along a curve concave to the west having an initial tangent bearing
of S. 4° 13' 39" W., an internal angle of 1° 58' 01" and a radius of
865.0 feet, a distance of 29.70 feet;
Thence S. 6° 11' 40" W., along a line that crosses the common lot lines
of said Lots 9, 10 and 11, a distance of 110.20 feet to the P.C. of a
circular curve to the left;
Thence along a curve concave to the northeast having an internal angle
of 90° 41' 40" and a radius of 10.0 feet, a distance of 15.83 feet to
a point on the south line of said Lot 11;
Thence N. 840 30' W., along the south line of said Lot 11, a distance of
12.07 feet to the point of beginning and containing 446.14 square feet,
more or less.
A map of which is marked "Exhibi A", and attached hereto and made a
part hereof for all purposes.
It is also agreed that the Grantee will relocate the fence to the new

Together with the free ingress, egress, and regress to and for the City
of Corpus Christi, for the purpose of constructing streets, sidewalks, curbs,
gutters and appurtenances upon said tract and way for the public use by foot,
with automobiles, carts, carriages, and all other vehicles and all other means of
transportation necessary or convenient at all times and in all seasons in, along,
and upon said tract and way, as well as for laying, repairing, servicing, and
maintaining of public utility lines and storm sewers in, on, over, under and a-
long said tract or way.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, all and singular, the rights and privileges afore-
said to the City of Corpus -Christi, Texas, its successors and legal representa-
tives and the public, for the proper use as public streets and utility easements,
or utility easements for so long as used for such purposes or any of them, and if
the use for said tract and way for all of said uses be ever abandoned, then in
that event, the aforesaid rights and privileges shall cease, and all rights here-
in granted shall revert to the Grantor herein, his heirs or assigns.
