AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 40 GOLF CARTS FROM E -Z -GO, TO
INCLUDE A TRADE-IN OF 30 GOLF CARTS FROM THE CORPUS
CHRISTI GOLF CENTER; APPROPRIATING $73,000; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given for the purchase of
40 golf carts from E -Z -GO, Textron, Inc., Houston, Texas, to include 30 golf
carts from the Corpus Christi Golf Center as a trade-in, all as more fully
set forth in the bid specifications on file in the office of the Purchasing
Agent opened on the 21st day of June, 1983, said bid going the lowest and
most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $73,000 from the
unappropriated/C.C. Golf Center Fund balance to account No. 269 -551.01 -Code
503 for the this purchase.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of
purchasing the aforementioned golf carts at the earliest practicable date,
such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at
three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed n shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the Ay of July, 1983.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance
or resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule
and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
