Home My WebLink About17710 ORD - 07/13/1983AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS AND SPECIAL CANVASSING BOARD FOR ALL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS FOR 1983; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 1 WHEREAS, the City Council of said City deems it advisable to appoint the election officials, and the Special Canvassing Board to canvass and declare the results of the absentee voting, for the elections to be held within said City during 1983: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That for the purpose of conducting and holding the elections in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, on the 13th day of August, 1983, and for subsequent municipal elections during 1983, Presiding Judges and Alternate Presiding Judges, respectively, are hereby appointed for each of the Election Precincts of said City, all as indicated on Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Each such Presiding Judge shall appoint not less than two more more than four qualified election clerks to serve at the election, but one of such clerks shall be the Alternate Presiding Judge. If any such Presiding Judge is unable to serve at the election, his or her Alternate Presiding Judge shall serve as the Presiding Judge. SECTION 2. That for the purpose of conducting the elections on the 13th day of August, 1983, and for subsequent municipal elections during 1983, a special canvassing board shall be used to count the absentee ballots of such elections, and the following persons are hereby appointed to serve as such special canvassing board, to -wit: Don Mosley Ronald W.
