HomeMy WebLinkAbout17711 ORD - 07/13/1983AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THE 20 FOOT WIDE PUBLIC ALLEY IN WATER BLOCK 8, BEACH PORTION; PROVIDING APPLICANT PAY FOR RELOCATION OF A FOUR INCH GAS MAIN AND EIGHT INCH SANITARY SEWER AND CENTRAL POWER & LIGHT COMPANY AND SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY FOR RELOCATION OF THEIR FACILITIES WITHIN THE ALLEY; PROVIDING FOR REPLATTING OF BLOCK 8; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, there exists a 20 foot wide public alley in Water Block 8, Beach Portion, as shown by plat recorded in Volume 9, Pages 38-41, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi to abandon said alley subject to the provisions set out below: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby closed and abandoned the 20 foot wide public alley in Water Block 8, Beach Portion, as shown by plat recorded in Volume 9, Pages 38-41, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, providing that applicant pay $4,535.10 for relocation of a 4" gas main, $5,679.25 for relocation of an 8" V.C.P. Sanitary Sewer and pay Central Power & Light Company and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for the relocation of their facilities within the alley and providing for replatting of Block 8. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by closing and abandoning the aforesaid alley, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as day of July, 1983.
