HomeMy WebLinkAbout17721 ORD - 07/27/1983AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF THE STREETS LISTED BELOW WHICH ARE ALL LOCATED WITHIN THE PADRE ISLES DEVELOPMENT a) Mizzen Street to be changed to Skysail Street b) Cutlass Street to be changed to Crossjack Street; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the name of the streets listed below which are all located within the Padre Isles Development, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same are hereby changed as follows: a) Mizzen Street (located between Aquarius and Lighthouse Streets) to be changed to Skysail Street; b) Cutlass Street (located between Flint Lock Drive and Windjammer Drive) to be changed to Crossjack Street; SECTION 2. That the Director of Traffic and Transit be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause to be removed any street signs or markers which are erroneous after the passage of this ordinance and to erect new street signs or markers at appropriate places designating the correct name of the above streets. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the desire of the Council to rename the abovementioned streets at the earliest possible date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the a%' day of July, 1983.
